soil battery
electrochemical power from the ground — copper, salt, and andosol soil driving a diode so a trail can glow at night without grid or solar panels on the path.
idea
bury a simple cell in the path bed. the wet volcanic soil is the electrolyte. a copper electrode and a salt bridge / salt-doped zone make a weak but continuous voltage. an LED (diode) on that voltage marks the trail — soft ground-level light, not a lamp post.
use case at cyber valley / sinwood / night trails: edge markers, steps, and fork cues that run as long as the soil stays moist.

electrochemistry (short)
- moisture in andosol dissolves salt → mobile ions
- copper (and paired electrode) create a potential difference in that ionic medium
- circuit closes through the diode → photon emission
- as long as soil moisture + salt + metal contact remain, the cell keeps a trickle current
power is tiny (milliamp / low-volt class). design for markers, not floodlight. many cells along a trail beat one big battery box.
why andosol
Gesing andosol holds water like a sponge and has high cation exchange — better natural electrolyte than dry sand or compacted clay. that is why soil-powered glow fits this land specifically: the dirt is part of the device.
