the visible electromagnetic spectrum binds to the seven fundamental emotions by evolution, not by culture. ancestral environments selected wavelength-affect pairings that enhanced survival: high-arousal threats at the long end, subtle dangers at the short end, life's reward at the sensitive middle. culture modulates the binding; it does not create it.
